Lucy´s story West Highland teriéra

Luky was a seven-year old West Highland white terrier who was reffered to a British chemist by a veterinarian after 18 months of unsuccesful treatment. She had lost 90% of her hair due to a skin disorder of unknown origin. Well known in her comminity for being a soccer team’s mascot, the poor dog started scratching and nibbling herself continuously, causing minor sores over her body and between her toes. It was recomended that (what was to become) No.12 Veterinary Grade Evening Primrose Oil Shampoo be used. Bathed three times a week this regime was augmented with three daily applications of an Evening Primrose Oil-rich spray (soon to be called No.62 Evening Primrose Oil Conditioning Mist). In just five weeks the results were remarkable. Lucy had stopped biting and scratching herself. Hair growth had almost returned to normal, and as an ongoing precaution, she was placed on a course of Essential Fatty Acid supplement (No.92 EFA Blend Coat Supplement) and a Royal Jelly shampoo (No.20 Royal Jelly Shampoo) to encourage rapid, continued hair growth.
Lucy was greeted with standing ovation and cheers everyone when she finally returned to the soccer pitch.
We honor Lucy, her story and the founding of our formulas through the depiction of the United Kingdom in the Isle of Dogs logo.
